Seed storage

Seeds of plantation species are generally long lived if stored at low temperatures when dry and protected from insects and vermin.
Seed of some species is unsuitable for storage. Approximately 140 seed species are stored by SETRO at 4 degrees Celsius. If the seed is not to be sown immediately it should be stored away from day-light and be protected from insects, vermin and dampness in a cool and dry place. Viability of many seed species declines quickly after collection or removal from cold storage. This will be mentioned on the boxes of all seed orders.
